Polynucleotides
Promote Natural Skin Renewal.
Polynucleotides are an innovative treatment designed to stimulate your skin’s natural regenerative processes.
As we age, our skin begins to lose elasticity, develop fine lines, and may take on a crepey appearance. Polynucleotides—derived from purified DNA fragments, typically sourced from fish—offer a scientifically backed solution that works by encouraging cellular repair and regeneration deep within the skin.
Unlike dermal fillers, polynucleotides don’t add volume or alter the shape of the face. Instead, they stimulate the skin to repair itself, enhancing hydration, improving elasticity, and helping it behave in a more youthful, resilient way.
This is an excellent option for those looking to soften fine lines and improve skin texture—particularly in delicate areas like the under-eye and neck, where polynucleotides can reduce dark circles, and crepiness with a subtle, natural result.
Polynucleotides
The Science Behind Polynucleotides
These highly purified DNA fragments possess remarkable regenerative properties, capable of accelerating tissue repair, enhancing collagen synthesis, and promoting cellular proliferation.
When administered via injection or topical application during a microneedling treatment, polynucleotides penetrate deep within the skin, where they exert their rejuvenating effects at the cellular level by stimulating your fibroblast cells to produce essential skin proteins including collagen and elastin.
Regenerative Aesthetics
Why Collagen Boosting is key?
Collagen is a fundamental protein that provides structure and support to the skin. As we age, natural collagen production diminishes, leading to visible signs of ageing such as wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. Environmental factors, lifestyle choices, and genetic predispositions can further accelerate this depletion, resulting in diminished skin quality and hair density.
The future of aesthetic medicine is increasingly focused on regenerative treatments that harness the body's innate healing abilities and boost collagen production. Polynucleotides exemplify this shift, offering a scientifically backed approach to skin rejuvenation that emphasises natural, long-term improvements over temporary fixes. By promoting collagen production and cellular regeneration, polynucleotide treatments represent a significant advancement in achieving healthier, more youthful-looking skin.

More Information
The appointment will begin with a thorough facial assessment, which includes treatment planning. Once we have decided on the ideal treatment strategy to achieve the results you want, a very fine needle is used to make small injections, administered with little to no discomfort. There is little to no downtime after the procedure. You will start to see results from 3 days up to 2 weeks after the procedure. We will then check-in with you to ensure a perfect result. Sometimes a minor adjustment is needed to balance everything nicely and because all of our treatments are customised to you, we do recommend that new clients attend a check up visit.
Unfortunately not everyone will be a candidate for injectables. We do not recommend injectables for any pregnant or breastfeeding women. We cannot perform injectables where there is active infection at the injection site or systemically. We urge caution and recommend discussing your suitability in advance if you have any allergies, autoimmune, neuromuscular or underlying medical conditions.
Please ensure that you are feeling fit & well on the day of your treatment. Treatment cannot be performed if you are feeling unwell or have had a recent illness including flu.
We do not recommend having any other skin, beauty or aesthetic treatments in the two weeks before a peel (includes brow treatments). Please ensure that you are feeling fit & well. Treatment cannot be performed if you are feeling unwell or have had a recent illness including flu.

Nil - mild
None. This is an ideal lunchtime treatment. You will have some very small discreet bumps for approximately 20 minutes but otherwise treatment is undetectable.
Initial results are typically seen after 1 week but final results are not seen until 2 weeks post treatment. This is also the time when we recommend that new clients return to the clinic for a complimentary review to evaluate results and make any adjustments.
The effect of wrinkle relaxers is temporary and how long they last depends on the individual client. For most people, the results last between 3-4 months however runners or those who train regularly may metabolise wrinkle relaxers at a faster rate.
Pharmacologically, wrinkle relaxers start to be broken down by the body from week 7-8 post treatment. At this stage, you may notice a gradual increase in muscle activity though you will not be back to baseline until at least week 12-16 (3-4 months).
The good news is that with repeated doses the lines and wrinkles often appear less severe because the muscles being treated are being trained to relax. Wrinkle relaxer treatment is best taken as a course with repeat treatments approximately every 4-6 months. This helps to ensure that results are always progressive and natural.

Expert Care by Our Medical Team
Prior to treatment, we will cleanse the skin to prepare it for injection. Your skin will be numbed using a topical anesthetic cream which ensures a painless treatment. A very fine needle along with a blunt needle called a cannula is used to ensure optimal delivery of polynucleotides. Post treatment you can expect some puffyness and redness which subsides within 24 hours. It is likley that you will also see small bumps in the treatment area which fade gradually over the first 4-7 days.
At ORA, your safety and results are our top priorities. Led by our experienced Medical Director and supported by a small skilled team of aesthetic Doctors we deliver personalised and expert care to every client.
