Dermal Fillers
Subtle Science-based Rejuvenation
As we age, we begin to lose volume and bone mass. At ORA, a less is more philosophy underpins our approach to Dermal Fillers. We believe fillers are best used to preserve facial bone structure and correct fat loss rather than to 'fill'.
We always start with a thorough consultation and assessment; examining bone structure and fat pads. Each treatment is meticulously designed and gently performed to achieve age-appropriate restoration of facial contours.
More than Skin Deep; The Importance of Support Structures
The Science behind Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid-based gels that help improve the support structures of the face. As we age, we lose volume in the fatty layers of our face, which can result in a tired, shadowy appearance. It can also cause the lower face to appear more voluminous and lose its natural shape. For many women, this leads to a more squared appearance of the lower face. When used carefully and with precision, dermal fillers are highly effective at restoring lost facial volume and youthful contours, resulting in a more rested, refreshed appearance.
Your Treatment Journey
Preserve, Restore & Balance
These are the key tenets of dermal filler treatments at ORA. For many, the natural changes in volume that occur with age can make us appear less like ourselves. Our carefully planned and precise approach to dermal fillers—where we restore lost volume, but no more—ensures a rested and refreshed appearance, one that is uniquely and characteristically you.
We also understand that ageing doesn't occur in isolated areas, but affects the face as a whole. This insight has shaped our signature techniques where we adopt a full-face approach to assessment and treatment.
The first step if you are considering dermal filler treatment is to arrange a consultation with one of our aesthetic doctors.

Benefits of Dermal Fillers at ORA
Holistic Full Face Approach
We believe in treating the face as a unit rather than in individual areas. This full-face approach means that our results are always balanced, harmonious and appear natural.
Tailored
Every dermal filler treatment is planned meticulously by our medical team taking into account your unique features, your ageing pattern and your aesthetic goals. This means that our treatments never risk appearing overdone, puffy or artificial.
Safety
Our medical team has vast experience and training in advanced techniques to ensure optimal safety and results. As IDC and IMC registered doctors we are bound by a duty of care to our clients and maintain exemplary safety protocols.

Expert Care by Our Medical Team
Every treatment is precision tailored and planned meticulously by our medical team, for this reason all dermal filler treatments must be preceded by a consultation with one of our doctors.
We achieve our results using either a fine needle or blunt needle, known as a cannula. Following the procedure there may be a little down time. Some swelling and redness is expected and it is advised that you stay in touch with us while you are recovering so that we can ensure that everything heals smoothly. It is our usual procedure to check-in with our patients on the day following dermal filler to assess healing.
At ORA, your results are our top priority. Led by our experienced Medical Director and supported by a small skilled team of aesthetic Doctors we deliver personalised and expert care to every client
More Information
Prior to your dermal filler appointment, you will have a consultation during which a thorough facial assessment will be carried out., We will formulate a treatment plan in collaboration with you and discuss the treatment and what you can expect in detail. It is possible to administer filler injections during a single appointment and whilst there is minimal downtime, some mild bruising, swelling, redness, and temporary tenderness at the injection site is expected. We use a combined approach with needles and cannulas (blunt needles), which will all depend on the treatment protocol.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are non-permanent and will naturally break down over time. We require that all clients have separate consultation before undergoing dermal filler treatment. This allows you time to discuss the treatment in detail with your aesthetic doctor and to ensure you are happy with the plan.
Unfortunately not everyone will be a candidate for injectables. We do not recommend injectables for any pregnant or breastfeeding women. We cannot perform injectables where there is active infection at the injection site or systemically. We urge caution and recommend discussing your suitability in advance if you have any allergies, autoimmune or underlying medical conditions.
Please ensure that you are feeling fit & well on the day of your treatment. Treatment cannot be performed if you are feeling unwell or have had a recent illness including flu.
We do not recommend having any other skin, beauty or aesthetic treatments in the two weeks before a dermal filler appointment. Please ensure that you are feeling fit & well. Treatment cannot be performed if you are feeling unwell or have had a recent vaccine or illness including flu.
Dermal Filler treatments are generally very well tolerated but you need to be mindful that there are some common and uncommon risks associated. It is important that you understand each of these risks and weigh up whether you wish to have treatment and when is the most appropriate time for you to schedule your
treatment. Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising.
Rare side effects include viral or bacterial infections, oedema (swelling), nodules, cysts and Inflammation. The most serious complication that has been associated with dermal filler is blood vessel blockage: in very rare instances blood vessels can be blocked by hyaluronic acid. This is why we ask that clients be available to attend the clinic for up to two weeks after treatment in the unlikely event of needing an urgent review.
Our aim is for treatment to be as painless as possible and the majority of clients would describe the associated discomfort as mild-moderate. We have a range of options for numbing as required.
Generally treatment is very well tolerated but swelling, mild bruising, slight discomfort are expected. For the majority of patients the most obvious of these are resolved within 24-72 hours.
The ORA method is committed to enhancing natural beauty and we aim for noticeable but subtle results. We don't believe in any artificially inflated outcomes.
Results are seen immediately but improve as any post-treatment swelling and redness subsides. This generally can take 1-2 weeks.
The longevity of dermal fillers varies. The range is from approximately 6 -24 months depending on patient lifestyle factors, patient metabolism, area treated, product used, volume used.
How often you should repeat treatment varies depending on the treatment area and we generally recommend that clients target areas that require restoration rather than simply repeating treatments on a time schedule. By way of a guide, we would recommend 1-3 maintenance syringes per year to combat the deflation seen with ageing.
